VOCATIONAL TRAINING LEVY AND REIMBURSEMENTS

The Vocational Training Fund refers to a Fund created by the Minister of Labour and Home Affairs under the Vocational Training Act of 1998, the purpose of which is to reimburse employers who have incurred costs training their employees. The Fund receives money from government subventions as well as a levy imposed by the Minister through the Vocational Training (Levy) Order 2008 on all employers with turnover of more than P250 000.00.

• The payment of the levy started in 1st October 2008.
• Employers who are paying the levy can commence claims for reimbursements if they have incurred approved training costs starting from 1st April 2009. Please download brochure and application forms here.

APPEALS PROCEDURE ON REGISTRATION AND ACCREDITATION

The purpose of this procedure is to afford training institutions an opportunity to appeal against any actions that may impede progress towards registration and/or accreditation of their vocational training institutions with Botswana Training Authority.
